I wanna take a moment and reflect on The 2011 Grammy Awards this past Sunday. It’s really exciting to see the Grammy’s this year give more spotlight to electronic dance music with the nominations for “Best Remixed Dance Recording”, highlighting some amazing remixes in the last year and bringing EDM as a music genre into a more prominent position as a whole. Among the nominees were Morgan Page, David Guetta & Afrojack, Axwell & Dirty South, Mike Rizzo, and Wolfgang Gartner. And to nobody’s surprise, the Grammy went to David Guetta & Afrojack’s remix of Madonna’s “Revolver”, which ironically Afrojack is not even listed on the official title of the remix. In my opinion, I thought this award should have most definitely gone to Axwell and Dirty South’s remix of Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition” or Morgan Page’s remix of Nadia Ali’s “Fantasy”. I think that the outcome of this award shows just how much influence David Guetta really has on the EDM scene. Check out all the nominated tracks from this year’s 2011 Grammy Awards below and let us know what you think…
